Apply & track with Apply EdgePOSITION OVERVIEWThe Store Logistics Clerk keeps the boutique supplied, organized, and ready for the client. The role owns the operation behind the selling floor: receiving freight, holding order in the stockroom, maintaining inventory accuracy, and fulfilling client and store orders from pick through shipment. Assouline books and objects are handled as the objects they are, and the standard of care in the stockroom is the same standard the client sees on the shelf.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFreight and Receiving• Receive inbound freight and parcel deliveries, verify against packing lists and purchase orders, and report shortages, overages, or damages.• Unpack, inspect, and stage merchandise, flagging any title or object that does not meet condition standards.• Break down and remove packaging materials and keep the receiving area clear and safe.• Coordinate delivery windows with carriers, building management, and the Store Manager.Stockroom Management• Maintain the stockroom to a defined layout so every title and object has a known location.• Support replenishment of the selling floor daily and on request during peak trading hours.• Monitor stock condition, and segregate damaged goods for markdown, repair, or return.• Manage levels of packaging, gift wrap, ribbon, shopping bags, and other shipping or store supplies, and reorder before stock runs out.Order Fulfillment and Shipping• Process client and store orders accurately and within stated service levels.• Pick, pack, and ship to presentation standard, with correct wrapping, protective packaging, and documentation.• Generate labels and manifests in carrier systems, arrange pickups, and track shipments through delivery.• Prepare shipments with correct documentation and coordinate with the corporate logistics team on freight collection.• Process returns, exchanges, and inter store transfers, and restock or return goods as directed.Inventory Control• Support cycle counts, seasonal physical inventories, and reconciliation of variances.• Maintain accurate system records for receipts, transfers, adjustments, and shipments.• Escalate persistent discrepancies to the Store Manager and Retail Operations.Store Support• Assist with visual installations, event setup, and pop up shipments as required.• Support the sales team with stock location and availability during business hours.• Observe all health, safety, and loss prevention procedures.QUALIFICATIONS• two to three years in a retail stockroom, warehouse, or fulfillment role. Experience in a comparable retail environment.• Working knowledge of carrier systems (UPS, FedEx, DHL) and shipping documentation.• Comfort with point of sale and inventory systems. Shopify or NetSuite experience is an advantage.• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to counting, labeling, and record keeping.• Ability to work independently, set priorities, and hold a schedule through high volume periods.• Clear written and verbal communication.•Availability for weekdays, weekends, and extended hours during the holiday season.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe role requires the ability to lift and move cartons of up to fifty pounds, to stand, bend, and climb ladders, to remain on foot for extended periods, and to operate hand trucks and other basic material handling equipment.Assouline is an equal opportunity employer.
