Strategic Finance Analyst - Private Equity

Robert Half Financial Services are hiring for a Strategic Finance Analyst to join a global Private Equity firm in midtown Manhattan, New York. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving financial insights, optimizing processes, and contributing to strategic initiatives across private equity portfolio companies. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with senior executives and portfolio management teams while leveraging your expertise in finance and strategy. This role requires 5 days per week in the midtown Manhattan office.Responsibilities:• Collaborate with portfolio companies to gather timely financial reports and operational key performance indicators (KPIs).• Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement, and communicate findings to investment and operating teams.• Partner with technology affiliates to oversee integration processes within portfolio companies.• Support strategic initiatives across portfolio companies, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), cost-saving measures, financial modeling, and process improvements.• Review vendor spending across portfolio companies to identify inefficiencies and ensure proper authorization of disbursements.• Continuously assess and refine processes, implementing best practices both internally and within portfolio companies.• Evaluate and provide feedback on portfolio company budgets and long-term financial projections.• Educate and mentor portfolio company management teams on effective collaboration with firm leadership and preferred service providers.• Facilitate the onboarding of technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency across portfolio companies.Qualifications:• 2+ years of experience working in Transaction Advisory, M&A or Financial Due Diligence for Private Equity clients at a Big 4 or Consultancy firm.• Experience working with middle-market private equity firms and their portfolio companies is highly advantageous.• Strong expertise in finance, accounting, financial reporting, and financial analysis; restructuring experience is a plus.• Exceptional analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including hands-on experience with financial modeling, and familiarity with other Microsoft Office tools.• Experience with data analysis tools such as Power BI or Tableau is preferred.• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, managing multiple priorities and initiatives.The Strategic Finance Analyst role is 5 days per week in the midtown Manhattan office, so please only apply if you are able to travel to this location, have relevant experience for the role and are eligible to work in the United States.
