We need someone who understands the complete strategic sourcing lifecycle—from market research and supplier identification through RFP/RFQ development, negotiations, business-case presentation, contract execution, and implementation.The successful candidate will also have enough technical understanding of electrical products and services to establish credibility with engineering and operations stakeholders.What You'll Do Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives for technical products and services. Develop sourcing strategies for categories including switchgear, transformers, relays, motors, drives, bearings, cable, wire, connectors, electrical consumables, and related services. Conduct market research and identify qualified manufacturers, distributors, and service providers. Develop and execute formal RFP/RFQ processes. Analyze supplier capabilities, pricing, risk, quality, and total cost. Lead supplier negotiations and execute commercial agreements. Build and present sourcing business cases to internal stakeholders and leadership. Partner closely with engineering and operations teams to understand technical requirements and gain stakeholder buy-in. Develop primary and secondary supplier strategies to improve supply continuity and reduce risk. Manage supplier performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and continuous improvement. Help implement and mature formal strategic sourcing processes across the organization. What We're Looking For 5+ years of hands-on strategic purchasing/negotiation experience preferred, with at least 3 years specifically focused on strategic sourcing. Experience sourcing technical electrical products and/or services. Working knowledge of products such as switchgear, transformers, motors, drives, relays, electrical components, cable/wire, or similar equipment. Demonstrated experience applying a formal 6–7 step strategic sourcing process to real sourcing initiatives. Ability to take a sourcing initiative from requirements definition and market analysis through supplier selection, negotiation, business case, contract execution, and implementation. Strong supplier negotiation and contract management experience. Experience partnering with engineering, operations, maintenance, or other technical stakeholders. Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-influencing skills. Ideal BackgroundStrong candidates may come from utilities, energy, oil & gas, data centers, electrical equipment manufacturers, industrial services, facility maintenance organizations, or strategic sourcing/procurement consulting firms.Experience with organizations involved in electrical equipment and controls is particularly relevant.This role is ideal for someone who knows the difference between buying and strategic sourcing.
