Position: Strategic Sourcing Team Lead (Direct Hire)Location: Houston TX, 77032Duration: Full-Time Opportunity Shift: Standard Shift Pay rate: $125K - $130K annually Position SummaryUnder broad direction, guides team through the strategic sourcing process to determine the optimum solution for internal customer needs based on market capabilities. Analyzes, develops and leads the implementation of the global sourcing strategy for designated projects usually lasting for six to nine months. The team lead will be responsible for the reduction of Total Cost of Ownership without compromising business strategy. Spends sourced annually for this role will typically be complex in nature and comprise 100+ million (US dollars). Manages data analysis, cost modeling, and RF(x) development on spend for designated projects; leads the team through processes to conduct internal needs analysis; determines optimum supplier solutions; selects strategic suppliers and negotiates agreements. Develops and executes implementation plans to ensure the successful implementation of sourcing strategy. Job role contributes directly to value creation. Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or similar discipline and a minimum of 5-8 years’ related experience in strategic sourcing, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, field operations and/or project management. A certification as a Supply Chain Professional is preferred. SAP and Microsoft Excel knowledge preferred. Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Team Lead / Senior Strategic Sourcing Team Lead to lead strategic sourcing initiatives and a small sourcing team. This role is responsible for developing supplier strategies, managing complex sourcing projects, negotiating with suppliers, reducing total cost of ownership, and driving value creation across the organization.The ideal candidate will have strong strategic sourcing and procurement experience, excellent leadership and negotiation skills, and the ability to work effectively with technical and commercial stakeholders. The role will support sourcing programs exceeding $100M annually. Key ResponsibilitiesLead strategic sourcing initiatives and manage a small sourcing team.Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for complex projects.Manage supplier negotiations and strategic supplier relationships.Lead RF(x) processes, including RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs.Conduct cost modeling, spend analysis, and total-cost-of-ownership analysis.Manage high-value sourcing programs exceeding $100M annually.Identify cost-saving and value-creation opportunities.Partner with technical, engineering, operations, and commercial stakeholders.Evaluate supplier capabilities, pricing, performance, and risk.Support sourcing decisions using data, market intelligence, and advanced Excel analysis.Utilize SAP and other procurement/sourcing systems to support strategic initiatives.Lead projects from sourcing strategy through supplier selection and implementation. Required QualificationsBachelor's degree required.5-8+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing, or Project Management.Proven experience leading strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations.Strong experience with RF(x) processes, cost modeling, and spend analysis.Demonstrated leadership or team-lead experience.Strong technical-commercial aptitude.Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.Ability to manage complex, high-value sourcing projects. Preferred QualificationsSAP experience.Engineering or other technical education/background.Experience managing sourcing programs exceeding $100M annually.Strong experience working with technical and engineering stakeholders.Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings and supplier value.
