The Strategy Manager is a senior individual contributor within the Strategy & Investment function, reporting to the Chief Strategy & Investment Officer (CSIO). The role holder will carry substantive responsibility across corporate strategy, investment analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and fundraising, and will be closely involved in the transactions and strategic initiatives that shape the Group's growth trajectory. The remit is deliberately broad, and the role holder is expected to move between investment analysis and modelling, transaction execution and strategic project delivery as priorities require. This is a hands-on analytical and execution role rather than a coordination one: the role holder owns workstreams and produces the underlying work, and is accountable for the quality and defensibility of the analysis on which the Group's investment decisions are based.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCorporate Strategy & PlanningSupport the development, refresh and execution of the Group's corporate strategy, including market entry, product and geographic expansion, and capital allocation priorities.Conduct market, industry, competitor and regulatory research, and translate findings into clear recommendations for the CSIO and executive management.Build business cases and financial models to evaluate strategic options, quantifying commercial impact, capital requirements and risk.Prepare board papers, executive presentations and strategy documentation to a standard suitable for board and shareholder audiences.Track execution of approved strategic initiatives against milestones, and escalate slippage and dependencies early.Investment AnalysisBuild, maintain and stress-test financial models, including three-statement, project finance and discounted cash flow models, with full sensitivity and scenario analysis.Screen inbound and originated opportunities against the Group's investment criteria, and produce concise screening memoranda with a clear recommendation to pursue or decline.Conduct company, sector and commodity analysis, including supply and demand fundamentals, pricing and margin dynamics, feedstock availability, cost curves and regulatory drivers.Perform valuation analysis across methodologies, including accretion/dilution and returns analysis, and benchmark outcomes against trading comparables, precedent transactions and prevailing market multiples.Analyse counterparty and target financial statements to assess profitability, cash generation, working capital intensity, leverage and credit quality.Monitor the performance of existing investments, associates and joint ventures against the original investment case, and prepare periodic portfolio reviews highlighting variances and required interventions.Maintain the investment pipeline tracker and the Group's internal libraries of comparables, precedent transactions, sector benchmarks and market data.Transaction Execution (M&A and Investments)Support origination of acquisition, joint venture and investment opportunities, including mapping of target universes and initial approaches alongside the CSIO.Coordinate due diligence across financial, legal, tax, technical, commercial and ESG workstreams, consolidating findings into an integrated view of transaction risk.Prepare investment committee and board approval papers, including deal rationale, structure, valuation, key risks and mitigants.Support negotiation preparation, including scenario analysis, term sheet comparison and articulation of the Group's negotiating positions.Support post-completion integration planning and delivery, including tracking of synergy capture and integration milestones.Fundraising & Capital MarketsSupport equity and debt fundraising processes end to end, including preparation of teasers, information memoranda, management presentations and financial models.Manage the virtual data room, coordinate the Group's responses to investor and lender due diligence queries, and maintain the question-and-answer log.Assist in the preparation and coordination of IPO readiness workstreams, liaising with sponsors, advisers, reporting accountants and internal stakeholders.Maintain the Group's long-range financial model and capital structure analysis to support financing decisions.Support investor and lender relations, including preparation of periodic reporting, covenant tracking packs and ad hoc information requests.Business Partnering & Strategic ProjectsLead or contribute to cross-functional strategic projects, taking ownership of defined workstreams from problem framing through analysis to recommendation and delivery.Partner with Finance, Commercial, Operations and Legal to gather inputs, resolve issues and ensure strategic initiatives land operationally.Undertake commercial and financial analysis to support operational and capital investment decisions arising outside the transaction pipeline.Prepare the analytical and commercial substance underpinning discussions with investors, lenders, counterparties and advisers.Reporting & Market IntelligenceDevelop and maintain management dashboards and reporting on strategic initiatives, transaction pipeline and investment performance.Provide timely, decision-ready analysis in response to ad hoc requests from the CSIO, executive management and the Board.Maintain a structured internal knowledge base of market intelligence, transaction precedents and benchmarking data.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEEssentialBachelor's degree in a numerate discipline.Three (3) to five (5) years' relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, transaction advisory or top-tier strategy consulting.Demonstrable financial modelling and valuation capability, with the ability to build, audit and defend models independently — this is a hands-on analytical role, not a purely supervisory one.Strong grounding in investment analysis, including screening, due diligence support, returns analysis and post-investment performance monitoring.Track record of supporting live M&A or fundraising transactions through to completion.Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to produce board-standard presentations and to distil complex analysis into clear recommendations.Strong project management skills, with the ability to run multiple workstreams simultaneously under transaction timetables.Sound judgement and absolute discretion in handling highly confidential and price-sensitive information.PreferredCFA charterholder, MBA or professional accounting qualification.Exposure to the energy, commodities, agri-commodities, biofuels or broader sustainability sectors.Experience with cross-border transactions across APAC jurisdictions.Prior involvement in an IPO or other capital markets transaction.Additional language capability relevant to the Group's operating markets.
