Employees benefit from strong mentorship, ongoing professional development, and clear opportunities for long-term career growth.Your New RoleOur client is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join their Ottawa office and support a growing portfolio of institutional, commercial, residential, and existing-building projects across Ontario.Working within a multidisciplinary consulting environment, you will be involved in the design, assessment, evaluation, and rehabilitation of structures from concept development through to construction completion. The role will combine structural design responsibilities with site investigations, condition assessments, contract administration, client interaction, and project coordination.This opportunity is well suited to an engineer who enjoys a balance of technical design, existing-building work, client engagement, and collaboration with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.Key ResponsibilitiesComplete structural design and analysis for new construction, renovation, rehabilitation, and retrofit projectsConduct structural assessments, site investigations, and evaluations of existing buildings and structuresPrepare structural reports, calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical documentationReview and coordinate projects with architects, contractors, owners, and multidisciplinary engineering teamsPerform site reviews, condition assessments, field inspections, and contract administration activitiesProvide structural solutions for repairs, rehabilitations, alterations, and building upgradesParticipate in proposal preparation, budgeting, and client presentations as requiredSupport junior engineers, EITs, and technical staff through mentorship and knowledge sharingEnsure compliance with OBC, NBCC, CSA standards, and internal quality assurance proceduresWhat You'll Need to SucceedBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering focusApproximately 5+ years of structural consulting experienceExperience with both new construction and existing-building projectsExposure to structural assessments, rehabilitation, retrofits, restoration, and renovation projectsStrong understanding of steel, concrete, timber, and masonry structural systemsExperience preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction documentationFamiliarity with site inspections, field reviews, and contract administrationRegistered P.Eng. or actively pursuing professional licensure through PEOStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work effectively within multidisciplinary consulting teamsWhat You'll Get in ReturnBase salary of approximately $80,000-$100,000 depending on experienceProfit-sharing bonus programRRSP and comprehensive benefits packageHealth Spending Account and Wellness AllowanceHybrid and flexible work environmentExposure to complex and meaningful projects across OntarioCareer progression opportunities within a growing national consultancyCollaborative culture with mentorship, professional development, and regular social eventsThis posting is for an existing vacancy with the organization.AI may be used to screen, assess or select applicants for the position.
