Tamimi Steel and MembraneWe are looking for a Structural Steel Estimator who wants to grow with Tamimi Steel and Membrane.Tamimi is a well-established Saudi company specializing in steel and tensile membrane structures. One of our most iconic projects is the King Fahad National Library (KFNL) in Riyadh.The role is to prepare profitable, winning bids.The key tasks will include:-· Analysis of the tender packages.o Review the architectural and structural drawings, project specifications, general arrangement drawings and project specific requirements· Clarificationso Proactively engage with the client to ensure their written and unwritten requirements are clear and will be fully met within our bid.· Bid / No Bido Recommend to the Senior management team whether to Bid / No Bid on tenders.· Complete accurate take-offs.o Perform detailed quantity take-offs for the steel sections, connections, accessories and surface protection.· Price shop fabrication and site erection activities.o Calculate the shop hours based on complexity, machine operating speeds, welding and finishing requirements.· Logistics and Site Erection costingo Estimate costs for delivery and the site erection costs.· Risk assessmento Assess the project costing and program risks making commercial judgements and recommendations to inform the offer price and delivery timescale.· Value Engineering.o Identify opportunities for value engineering that can be discussed with client to give us a competitive edge.· Early supply chain engagemento Obtain prices and lead-times from the key suppliers.· Bid Preparationo Lead the bid preparation process, working closely with the commercial, engineering, production, project management teams.· Hand-overo Organise the hand-over of winning projects to the operational team.· Learno Review the win / lose factors to inform future bids.Qualifications and Skills· Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject.· Experience: Minimum of 7 years experience in top tier structural steel fabrication business and at least 2 years as an Estimator.· Software: Expert user of estimating software and workflows· Code and Standards: Working knowledge of the international and Saudi Building Codes.· Commercial Acumen: Must be able to demonstrate a track record of commercial sound decisions.This is a challenging role in a high growth company.It needs someone who is self-propelled, hands-on, able to work under time pressure, resourceful and commercial
