FuGen Academy also provides weekly assessments, mock interviews, job support, and flexible timings for working professionals, aiming to support learners at every stage of their IT career journey.Role Description The Student Counsellor / Academic Counsellor – IT Training role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Vijayawada District. The counsellor will guide prospective and enrolled learners in choosing suitable IT training programs, explain course structures and outcomes, and support them in mapping training options to career goals. Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, handling walk-ins and inquiries, responding to phone and online queries, and maintaining accurate records of student interactions and admissions. The role involves coordinating with trainers and administrative staff, supporting students through admission, onboarding, and course progression, and assisting with career counseling, interview preparation guidance, and participation in outreach or informational events. The counsellor is expected to provide a professional, inclusive, and supportive experience to learners from diverse backgrounds.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Student Counseling and Academic Counseling skills, with the ability to understand learner needs and suggest appropriate IT training paths.Candidates should possess Career Counseling skills, including guiding learners on job roles, skill requirements, and progression in IT and data-related fields.Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact clearly and confidently with students, families, and internal teams.Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to manage inquiries, resolve concerns, and provide a positive, professional experience for all learners.Candidates should possess Education-related knowledge or experience, preferably in IT training, coaching, or academic administration.Additional beneficial qualifications include familiarity with IT and data technology domains, experience in admissions or student support, proficiency with basic office and CRM tools, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced training environment.A bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, psychology, management, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience in student or career counseling will be considered an advantage.
