A student-focused approach, clear communication, and transparent advice have helped build lasting trust with learners and their families.Role Description The Student Counselor is a full-time, on-site role based in Jaffna, responsible for guiding prospective students through their study abroad journey. Day-to-day tasks include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, understanding each student’s academic background and career goals, and recommending suitable countries, universities, and courses. The role involves supporting students with application processes, document requirements, scholarship options, SOP and personal statement guidance, and basic visa documentation preparation. The Student Counselor will maintain regular communication with students and families, provide timely updates, and ensure a positive, professional customer experience. The role also includes coordinating with partner institutions, participating in education events or seminars, and maintaining accurate records of student interactions and progress.Qualifications Strong Student Counseling skills, with the ability to provide personalized guidance based on individual profiles.Career Counseling capabilities to help students align study options with long-term professional goals.Excellent Communication skills, including clear spoken and written English and the ability to explain complex processes simply.Customer Service skills to deliver supportive, respectful, and timely assistance to students and families.Background or strong interest in Education, international higher education pathways, and study abroad processes.Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Education, Psychology, Business, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for managing applications, documents, and deadlines.Ability to work collaboratively in an office environment in Jaffna and maintain professional confidentiality.Prior experience in overseas education consulting, admissions, or student advisory services is an advantage.
