Apply & track with Apply EdgeStudent Experience Assistant London Academy for Applied Technology (LAAT)(Partner Institution of Plymouth Marjon University)Job PurposeThe Student Experience Assistant supports the delivery and enhancement of thestudent experience at LAAT, working under the guidance of the Student ExperienceLead.The role contributes to student engagement initiatives, student voice structures,committee coordination, feedback processes, and regulatory preparation (includingOFS readiness), ensuring a positive and supportive academic environment aligned withpartnership expectations.Main Duties & Responsibilities1. Student Voice & Committee Support• Support the coordination and administration of the Student Voice Committee,Student Interest Panel, and Student Interest Committee.• Assist in organising:o Monthly operational meetingso Quarterly strategic review meetings• Prepare agendas, take minutes, and track action points to ensure timely followup.• Support the recruitment and engagement of Class Representatives (CRs).• Maintain effective communication between students, academic staff, and seniormanagement.• Assist in merging weekly student voice updates into institutional reportingmeetings.2. Student Engagement & Enhancement Activities• Support the planning and delivery of induction, orientation, and transitionactivities.• Assist in organising student-led clubs, societies, and engagement initiatives.• Encourage student participation in enrichment activities and communitybuilding events.• Work collaboratively with academic staff to promote an inclusive and engaginglearning environment.3. Student Support & Guidance• Provide first-line support to students raising queries or concerns, referringcomplex matters to the Student Experience Lead where appropriate.• Liaise with academic staff and support services to assist in resolving studentissues.• Support early identification of students requiring additional academic or pastoralassistance.• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive student matters.4. Feedback & Continuous Improvement• Assist in collecting and collating student feedback from:o Student Voice Committeeso Module evaluationso Informal student feedback channels• Identify emerging themes and escalate key issues to the Student ExperienceLead.• Support action planning and communication of outcomes back to students(“You Said – We Did” approach).5. Partnership & Compliance Support• Assist in ensuring student experience processes align with partnershipstandards set by Plymouth Marjon University.• Support documentation and reporting required for quality assurance and Officefor Students (OFS) preparation.• Contribute to data collection relating to attendance, engagement, and studentsatisfaction metrics.6. Communication & Information Management• Update student communications through appropriate platforms (e.g., VLE, emailnotices, internal systems).• Support clear dissemination of academic regulations, institutional policies, andevent information.• Maintain accurate records of meetings, activities, and student engagementinitiatives.RequirementsPerson SpecificationEssential• Experience in student-facing or administrative role within education.• Strong organisational and time-management skills.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and under guidance.• Experience in event or meeting coordination.• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.Desirable• Experience within Higher Education.• Understanding of student voice structures and committee processes.• Awareness of UK Higher Education regulatory frameworks (e.g., OfS).• Experience working within a partnership provision environment.Benefits Nest Pension Plan CPD Training Food and Beverage Discounts
