Joining 8 Waves means contributing to meaningful, long-term opportunities that extend far beyond a single moment.Role Description The Student Success Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Orlando, FL, responsible for supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth. In this position, the coordinator will build relationships with students, track their progress, and provide individualized support plans in collaboration with educators, families, and community partners. Daily tasks include organizing and facilitating student leadership and engagement activities, coordinating tutoring or enrichment programs, and connecting students with appropriate resources and referrals. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, preparing regular progress reports, and contributing to program evaluation and improvement. The coordinator will work closely with the broader 8 Waves team to ensure that program goals align with the organization’s mission and community needs.QualificationsStrong interpersonal skills to build trust, promote collaboration, and work effectively with students, families, educators, and community partners.Demonstrated communication skills, including clear verbal communication, active listening, and professional written communication for reports and outreach.Background or experience in education, youth development, or a related field, with an understanding of the needs of at-risk or underserved students.Experience or aptitude in student engagement and student leadership, including facilitating activities, mentoring, and empowering student voice.Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain organized records, and use basic technology tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, databases).Commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed practices, with sensitivity to diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.Experience in non-profit or community-based programs, particularly in Central Florida, is beneficial.
