Guided by an experienced leadership team, the organization is committed to strengthening communities and advocating for children and families at local, state, and federal levels.Role Description The Sub Teacher Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Smithville, NJ. This role supports lead teachers in early childhood education classrooms by assisting with daily instruction, classroom management, and implementation of educational activities. The Sub Teacher Assistant helps maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment, supports children’s social, emotional, and academic development, and assists with small group and one-on-one learning. Responsibilities include preparing classroom materials, supporting lesson delivery, supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities, and promoting positive behavior and respectful interactions. The role may also include light record-keeping, communication with teaching staff and families as directed, and adherence to program policies, health and safety standards, and regulatory requirements.Qualifications Strong Assistant Teaching and classroom support skills, with the ability to follow lesson plans and support instructional activities.Effective Communication skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues in a professional and culturally responsive manner.Background in Education or early childhood development, with understanding of age-appropriate learning and child development principles.Basic Mathematics skills to support early numeracy activities and classroom tasks.Demonstrated experience Working With Children in group settings, with a commitment to safety, inclusion, and positive guidance.Ability to work on-site, be flexible as a substitute in different classrooms, and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or credentials in early childhood education or related field preferred.Ability to meet background check, health, and licensing requirements as mandated by program and regulatory standards.
