Subject Matter Expert (SME) – BIM & AI in ConstructionNICMAR Online | Full-Time | Mumbai / HybridNICMAR Online is looking for a Ph.D / Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our BIM & AI in Construction programs to take ownership of the academic quality, technical content, program health and learner experience across our BIM, AI in Construction and Digital Construction content (MOOC) portfolio.The role will serve as the academic and technical anchor for the programs and digital learning portfolio, working closely with faculty, industry experts, instructional designers, content teams and academic leadership.Key Responsibilities· Own the academic and technical quality of BIM, AI in Construction and Digital Construction programs.· Monitor overall program and cohort health, including learner engagement, attendance, assessments, completion, feedback and academic performance.· Coordinate and manage faculty, industry SMEs, mentors and guest experts.· Review curriculum, session plans, presentations, case studies, assignments, assessments and projects for technical quality and industry relevance.· Act as the technical quality owner for NICMAR Online's digital content and MOOCs related to BIM, AI, Digital Construction and Construction Technology.· Review recorded lectures, demonstrations, presentations, quizzes and learning material for technical accuracy, academic rigour, relevance and currency.· Validate BIM workflows, software demonstrations, AI applications, construction technology use cases and industry practices.· Work closely with Instructional Designers, Content Developers and Production teams to ensure high-quality digital learning content.· Provide technical/academic sign-off before relevant content is released.· Identify outdated, inaccurate or low-performing content and drive continuous improvement.· Analyse learner feedback and academic data and recommend corrective interventions.· Track developments in BIM, AI, Digital Twins, Automation, Generative AI, Computer Vision and Construction Technology and recommend their integration into programs.· Prepare periodic program health and academic quality reports for leadership.· Benchmark programs and content against industry and academic best practices.Candidate Profile· Ph.D. / Doctorate in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, BIM, Digital Construction, AI, Computer Science or a closely related discipline.· 3–7+ years of relevant academic, research or industry experience in BIM, Digital Construction, Construction Technology, AI in Construction or related domains.· Strong academic and practical understanding of BIM and Digital Construction workflows.· Experience with tools such as Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D or equivalent BIM platforms is preferred.· Strong understanding or research exposure in AI/ML, Generative AI, Digital Twins, Computer Vision, Automation and Data Analytics in Construction will be an advantage.· Experience in higher education, teaching, curriculum development, academic program management, research, professional education or digital learning is desirable.· Strong research orientation with the ability to translate emerging technologies into practical learning applications.· Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills.What We Are Looking ForWe are looking for a domain authority and academic leader, not just a conventional SME.The ideal candidate should be capable of ensuring that NICMAR Online's BIM and AI programs and digital content are:Technically accurate | Academically rigorous | Industry-relevant | Current | Learner-centricThe individual will play a critical role in maintaining the academic and technical credibility of NICMAR Online's BIM, AI and Digital Construction portfolio.
