Success and Wellbeing CoachHessel GroupWelland, Adelaide SA (Hybrid)Part-time to Full-time | South AustraliaHelp students turn barriers into opportunitiesHessel Group is looking for an experienced, compassionate and motivated Success and Wellbeing Coach to join our growing team.As part of the South Australian Government-funded Success and Wellbeing Services (SWS) program, you will work directly with vocational education and training (VET) students who may be experiencing challenges that interfere with their study, training participation or progression towards employment.Your role will be to help students identify what is getting in the way, develop practical strategies, access appropriate supports and build the confidence and capability needed to continue moving forward.This is a varied and meaningful role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, values strong professional relationships and wants to make a genuine difference to students' education, wellbeing and future opportunities.About Success and Wellbeing ServicesSuccess and Wellbeing Services (SWS) is funded by the South Australian Government to provide additional support for eligible students undertaking vocational education and training.The program recognises that a student's ability to succeed in training can be affected by circumstances well beyond the classroom. Through SWS, eligible students can access free, confidential and personalised support from a Success and Wellbeing Coach during their studies and, where relevant, as they move from training into employment or their next stage.SWS support focuses on three interconnected areas:👉Living – helping students address personal, social or practical circumstances that may make it difficult to remain engaged in training.👉Learning – developing strategies, skills and confidence that enable students to participate effectively in their course and meet training requirements.👉Transition – helping students prepare for qualification completion, employment and other opportunities beyond their training.The support required will vary from student to student and may include wellbeing and mental health support, housing or financial concerns, family circumstances, disability and learning needs, study skills, transport, employment preparation and connection with community or specialist services.About the roleAs a Success and Wellbeing Coach, you will develop supportive one-to-one relationships with students and work alongside them to understand the circumstances affecting their training.Using a person-centred and strengths-based approach, you will assist students to establish goals, identify solutions and develop strategies that improve their ability to participate in and complete their studies.You will also work closely with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), trainers, employers, community services, government agencies and specialist providers to ensure students can access coordinated and appropriate support when required.The position brings together elements of case management, coaching, counselling, educational support, advocacy, stakeholder engagement and service promotion. It offers considerable variety and requires someone who is comfortable moving between student support, stakeholder collaboration and broader program activities.What You'll be doingYour responsibilities will include:👉Providing individualised case management, coaching and wellbeing support to eligible students.👉Supporting students across the SWS areas of Living, Learning and Transition.👉Identifying personal, educational and practical factors that may be affecting a student's engagement or progress.👉Working with students to establish goals and develop practical, individualised strategies and support plans.👉Helping students strengthen their confidence, resilience, independence and ability to manage the demands of training.👉Providing learning support in areas such as planning, organisation, time management, study approaches and understanding assessment requirements.👉Assisting students to strengthen language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy skills where this forms part of their identified support needs.👉Providing appropriate counselling, advocacy and solution-focused support within the boundaries of the position.👉Working with students experiencing a broad range of circumstances, which may include mental health concerns, disability, learning difficulties, unstable housing, financial pressures, family challenges, substance misuse or other complex life situations.👉Identifying when additional or specialist assistance is required and facilitating connections with suitable community, health, housing, disability, financial, employment, government and other support services.👉Working collaboratively with RTO staff and trainers to strengthen student engagement and provide coordinated support.👉Assisting students to remain engaged in training, progress towards completion and prepare for employment or further opportunities.👉Regularly reviewing student progress and adjusting support strategies in response to changing needs.👉Maintaining professional, accurate and confidential case notes, records and supporting documentation.👉Contributing to program reporting, outcome measurement, evaluation and continuous improvement activities.👉Establishing and maintaining productive relationships with RTOs, service providers and other stakeholders throughout South Australia.👉Promoting awareness and understanding of SWS among students, trainers, RTO staff and relevant stakeholders.👉Delivering SWS presentations and information sessions to student groups, trainers and participating organisations.👉Contributing to team meetings, professional development and wider SWS activities.About You- You are approachable, empathetic and professionally grounded, with the ability to develop rapport with people whose backgrounds and circumstances may be very different from your own.- You recognise that difficulties with study are often connected to broader personal, social or practical circumstances and are comfortable supporting people whose needs may be complex or changing.- You can demonstrate compassion while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
