Superintendent, HSE (Shipping)Role DescriptionWe are seeking a highly responsible and safety-focused Superintendent, HSE (Shipping) to oversee health, safety, and environmental standards across shipping and marine operations. The role involves developing and implementing HSE policies, procedures, and programs to promote safe and compliant operations across vessels and related activities. You will monitor operational safety performance, conduct inspections and audits, identify potential risks, and support corrective and preventive actions. The role also includes coordinating incident investigations, maintaining HSE documentation, promoting safety awareness, and ensuring alignment with applicable maritime regulations and industry standards. Working closely with vessel teams, shore-based departments, and relevant stakeholders, you will contribute to continuous improvement and a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate is disciplined, analytical, proactive, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety, environmental responsibility, and operational integrity.QualificationsBachelor’s degree or relevant qualification in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, HSE, Environmental Management, or a related field.Strong understanding of maritime HSE principles, safety management systems, risk assessment, and environmental practices.Knowledge of applicable maritime regulations, industry standards, and international safety requirements.Strong analytical, investigation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Ability to conduct safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.Strong communication, coordination, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.High level of integrity, accountability, attention to detail, and safety awareness.Ability to promote safety culture and communicate HSE requirements effectively across different teams.Familiarity with incident reporting systems, HSE management software, and safety performance indicators is an advantage.Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
