Supply Chain Data ScientistAbout the roleWe are seeking a highly experienced and organised Supply Chain Data Scientist to join our client. The successful candidate will own and deliver one or more data-driven initiatives within Supply Chain, with a focus on sustainability-related outcomes. You will leverage strong AI and data science expertise to drive business impact, while managing projects end-to-end using a structured approach and established governance frameworks. The role requires ensuring successful delivery against defined objectives, timelines, budget, scope, and quality standards, with clear ownership and stakeholder alignment throughout.Tell me more, tell me more…Our client is currently looking for a new recruit in joining their team, please read on!You can also ask our friendly recruitment team any questions you may have about the role, between 8:30am-5:30pm Monday to Friday.Shifts: Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week)Key responsibilitiesA deep knowledge of supply chain models and analytics, to help us build the right models with the right science behind them. Including:Understanding of how to handle/model slow moving partsMulti-echelon inventoryHow to balance cost and service levels (fill rates and cycle service levels)Stakeholder management skills (defining and prioritising requirements, contributing to product roadmap, supporting adoption). Motivated as much by creating business value as by algorithmic excellence.We will need to build some products outside Lokad. Therefore, we require the ability to work independently in Python on client's stack:Developing analytical solutions using the core packages for data science, optimisation and simulation.Creating data pipelines (even though we will have a data engineer) and to get these into production.Knowledge of the software engineering techniques to get the solution into production.Ability to work with unstructured and low-quality data: we require a good business understanding to manage this wellAbility and motivation to learn Envision (the programming language of Lokad)Lokad is a third-party software product being purchased by client: It is for data-driven supply chain analytics \ optimisation. This data scientist will do a mixture of using\customising Lokad and also developing separate tools that work alongside Lokad.
