Supply Chain Director

Role DescriptionA Supply Chain Director is responsible for developing and overseeing an organization's supply chain strategy, procurement, logistics, inventory, distribution, and supplier management activities. The role works closely with senior management, suppliers, manufacturers, logistics providers, customers, and internal departments to ensure the supply chain operates efficiently, cost-effectively, reliably, and in alignment with business objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies, policies, and operational plans.Oversee procurement, sourcing, logistics, warehousing, inventory, distribution, and supply planning activities.Establish supply chain performance targets, KPIs, budgets, and service-level standards.Lead supplier selection, evaluation, negotiation, contract management, and relationship development.Monitor inventory levels, demand forecasts, purchasing requirements, and product availability.Optimize supply chain processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize operational risks.Develop demand and supply planning strategies to support business growth and customer requirements.Monitor transportation, warehousing, distribution, and delivery performance.Identify supply chain disruptions, operational risks, capacity constraints, and improvement opportunities.Develop contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies for supply chain continuity.Collaborate with finance, sales, operations, procurement, manufacturing, and other departments.Monitor supplier performance, quality, pricing, delivery schedules, and contractual compliance.Oversee supply chain budgets, operating costs, procurement spending, and cost-reduction initiatives.Implement supply chain technologies, ERP systems, analytics, automation, and process improvements.Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, company policies, quality standards, and ethical sourcing requirements.Review supply chain reports, forecasts, operational data, and financial performance.Prepare strategic reports, budgets, forecasts, and performance updates for senior management.Lead, develop, and motivate supply chain, procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams.Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, sustainability, and long-term supply chain resilience.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.Extensive experience in supply chain management, procurement, logistics, operations, or a related leadership role.Proven experience managing procurement, logistics, inventory, warehousing, distribution, and supplier relationships.Strong knowledge of supply chain planning, sourcing, forecasting, inventory management, and cost optimization.Experience negotiating supplier contracts, pricing, service agreements, and commercial terms.Strong understanding of supply chain risk management, business continuity, and performance optimization.Experience with ERP, SAP, Oracle, or other supply chain management systems is advantageous.Strong analytical, strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.Strong financial and commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and operational costs.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Knowledge of relevant UAE regulations, import/export requirements, customs procedures, and international supply chain standards is advantageous.Professional, reliable, organized, proactive, results-oriented, and capable of managing complex supply chain operations.
