Apply & track with Apply EdgeThis leader will build and develop a growing supply chain organization of approximately 7–10 employees, drive workforce planning and talent development, and establish scalable supply chain capabilities to support business growth.The Director will partner closely with engineering, program management, operations, and business leadership to ensure early supply chain involvement in product and program development. A key focus will be improving supplier quality, cost, lead time, affordability, producibility, and schedule performance.The position reports directly to the Division GM of Force-X, participates on the Sector Leadership Team, and maintains a dotted-line relationship with the Supply Chain/Operations function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Supply Chain organization for the Force-X business, including procurement and subcontracts.- Build, lead, and develop a growing team of supply chain professionals.- Develop workforce plans aligned with program requirements, budgets, and growth objectives.- Drive recruiting, onboarding, employee development, and organizational capability building.- Partner with engineering, program management, operations, and business leadership on new product and program development.- Influence product and program design decisions to optimize supply chain performance, affordability, producibility, and schedule.- Establish tactical and operational supply chain plans, objectives, and performance metrics.- Manage approximately $100M–$200M in annual spend.- Develop supplier strategies and drive procurement execution, subcontract management, and supply chain risk mitigation.- Deliver year-over-year improvements in supplier quality, cost, and lead time.- Establish and improve processes, systems, and solutions that increase supply chain scalability and execution.- Develop strong relationships with strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders.- Communicate strategically with senior leadership, customers, suppliers, and other external parties.- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and applicable regulatory obligations, including import/export requirements.Required Qualifications:- Bachelor’s Degree + 15 years of prior related experience, OR- Graduate Degree + 13 years of prior related experience, OR- 19 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.- 5+ years of FAR/DFAR contracting experience.- Experience working in DoD contracting.- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.- U.S. Citizenship required.- Significant experience in supply chain, procurement, subcontracts, or related leadership.- Strong strategic planning, communication, cross-functional leadership, and organizational development skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting a new product or program launch.- ERP/MRP implementation experience, including Costpoint.- Current or previous security clearance.- Experience with both FAR Part 15 and FAR Part 12 contracting.- Knowledge of import/export requirements.- Demonstrated experience building teams and driving organizational growth and performance.
