Supply Chain Management LeadKeep parts flowing so engineering never has to slow down for one.At Green Aero, the biggest risk to a program timeline usually isn't a design problem, it's a part that didn't show up on time. We already have dedicated SCM points of contact embedded with the Engine team and the UAV team, and they own the day to day sourcing for their programs. What we don't have yet is one person who sits above both, sees the whole picture, and makes sure nothing falls through the gap between the two programs, or between engineering and admin, or between procurement and finance. That's this role.Location: HiTech Defence & Aerospace Park, Bengaluru, on siteWork days: 5 to 6 days a week, depending on program timelines and what's in flightExperience: 8 to 12 years in supply chain management or procurement, ideally in a manufacturing, R&D, aerospace, defense, or automotive environmentWhat the job actually looks likeYou'll oversee the complete SCM function across the company, not just one program. The Engine and UAV teams each have their own SCM POC handling day to day sourcing, and you'll work closely with both of them, guide their priorities, and step in personally when something needs escalation or when the two programs are competing for the same vendor or the same money. On top of that, you'll also own admin and local procurement, the everyday purchases that keep the facility and the teams running, so nothing falls into a gap where nobody's watching it.Right now, a lot of our procurement runs on relationships and good instincts, which has gotten us this far but won't scale. Part of your job is to put real process in place: a proper PR to PO workflow, vendor qualification and onboarding steps, clear approval matrices, and documentation that actually holds up when someone needs to check it later. We want systems that are stringent enough to catch problems early, not process for the sake of process. You'll also be the person who gives finance actual visibility into what's happening. That means clean PO tracking, accurate cost data tied to the right program and cost center, and budget versus actual numbers that the Financial Controller and accounts team can trust without having to chase you for clarification. If finance can't answer a basic question about spend without pulling you into a meeting, that's a gap you're expected to close.Every day, you'll run a short sync across the Engine POC, UAV POC, and anyone else relevant, so the whole team knows exactly where every critical part stands, what the timeline looks like, and what's at risk. When something is going to be late, and eventually something will be, you're the one who already has a contingency in motion: an alternate vendor, an expedited shipment, a workaround that keeps R&D moving instead of waiting.Beyond the day to day, you'll build out our local and international vendor base, manage import and export compliance for components we bring in from abroad, keep the fixed asset register aligned with what accounts has on the books, and generally take ownership of anything procurement or logistics related that shows up and doesn't have a clear owner yet. What you bring8 to 12 years in supply chain management or procurement, with real exposure to Aerospace Startups or R&D environments where parts feed directly into engineering timelinesExperience managing or coordinating with other procurement people, not just running your own deskA track record of building formal processes from something informal, ideally at a company that was still figuring things out when you joinedComfort working closely with finance and giving them the kind of data they can actually useWorking knowledge of import and export procurement, customs documentation, and compliance requirements for sourcing components internationallyStrong organizational skills, since you'll be tracking multiple programs, multiple vendors, and multiple timelines at once without letting any of them slip quietlyA hands on streak. When something's stuck, you're comfortable calling the vendor yourself instead of waiting for someone else to fix itIf you've spent your career watching supply chains run on tribal knowledge and have been waiting for the chance to build one properly from the ground up, at a company where the parts you source go straight into a drone that flies near the speed of sound, this is that chance.Green Aero Propulsion is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, or any other status protected by law.
