The organization is strengthening its supply chain as programs progress into repeat production.This leadership role requires a commercially focused professional who can combine strategy with hands-on delivery, taking ownership of procurement, material availability, supplier performance, and team development.Key responsibilitiesDevelop supply chain plans supporting program schedules, costs, and production requirements.Convert MRP demand into phased procurement plans, including early release of long-lead items.Maintain material availability across machined parts, fabricated assemblies, and build-to-print hardware.Improve supplier delivery through expediting, schedule recovery, and constraint resolution.Manage the cost and schedule impact of engineering changes.Hold subcontractors accountable for readiness, delivery, and corrective actions.Lead sourcing, supplier selection, negotiations, and proposal support.Maintain CPSR-compliant, audit-ready procurement files.Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, contractual flow-downs, and ITAR/EAR controls.Monitor supply chain risk, KPIs, and recovery plans.Lead and develop buyers and subcontract administrators.Partner with engineering, operations, quality, logistics, and program management.Required backgroundBachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field.Nine or more years of supply chain, procurement, or logistics experience.Management experience within defense, aerospace, government contracting, or complex manufacturing.Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and CPSR requirements.Experience managing production materials on a Department of Defense program.Demonstrated success improving supplier on-time delivery.Experience managing major subcontractors through production readiness and delivery.Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems in a project-based manufacturing environment.Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.For further information, contact Stephen Stuart:sstuart@vallumassociates.com
