Support Worker

We are hiring Residential Support Workers at Children of the Mangrove 🌱A mangrove holds firm in the hardest conditions and gives shelter while roots take hold. That is exactly what we do for children who have not always been kept safe. We are looking for people who want to be that steady presence in a young person's life.Children of the Mangrove is a children's home provider in South West London. We care for young people with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs, using a relational, trauma informed approach and the PACE model of playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy.What the role really is:🌱 Building trusting relationships with young people who have learned that adults are not always reliable🌱 Supporting daily routines, education, health, activities and the ordinary moments where trust is actually built🌱 Keeping children safe, following their care and safety plans, and keeping good records🌱 Working alongside a warm, committed team and reflective practice with a therapeutic consultantWho we are looking for:🌱 People with genuine warmth, patience and resilience, who can stay calm and kind when a young person is at their most testing🌱 Experience of working with children or young people is welcome, but the right values matter most to us🌱 A willingness to work shifts, including [sleep ins, evenings and weekends]🌱 [A full UK driving licence is desirable]What we offer:🌱 [Competitive pay, from £X per hour, plus sleep in payments]🌱 Full training, including trauma informed practice and a clear development pathway🌱 Real support, regular supervision and reflective practice🌱 The chance to genuinely change the course of a young person's lifeLocation: South West London Hours: Full time 39 hours per weekIf you want work that matters, we would love to hear from you.
