vision, values, and Labor Management Partnership principles.The Surgical Technologist performs the scrub role during surgical procedures and coordinates activities with surgeons, nurses, and other organizational, department, and unit policies and procedures.Maintain reliable attendance and comply with assigned work schedules.Accurately record productive hours in accordance with timekeeping patients, families, and staff in a professional and courteous manner.Apply knowledge and skills required to provide appropriate, population-based, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive care.Participate in accurate pre-operative briefings and surgical time-outs.Continuously monitor and reassess the intra-operative environment.PlanningUse knowledge of the surgical procedure to plan and prepare the appropriate operating room setup.Ensure the required instruments, equipment, supplies, and materials are available for the procedure.Apply knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate patient care.ImplementationPerform the scrub role during surgical procedures while maintaining strict aseptic technique.Initiate appropriate measures based on established protocols for intra-operative patient management.Evaluate sterile packs and supplies before use.Establish and maintain a well-organized sterile field.Anticipate the needs of the surgical team based on the progression of the procedure.Perform required surgical procedures correctly to promote patient safety.Assist with proper patient positioning, body alignment, and transfers.Inspect unused equipment and instruments for contamination.Safely transport covered used instruments to the appropriate utility area.Assist with emergency procedures and follow established protocols.Work with the Circulator to prepare the operating room for the next scheduled case.Initiate and facilitate operating room turnovers.Assist with light housekeeping, equipment and supply procurement, and retrieval of X-rays as required.Restock unused supplies and equipment.Participate in instrument and equipment reprocessing activities.Sterile Core ResponsibilitiesPrioritize and complete sterile core duties.Pick and prepare case carts according to scheduled procedures.Restock supplies and equipment.Identify and reorder supplies as needed.Assist with operating room supply and equipment needs.Maintain appropriate organization and cleanliness of the sterile core area.Clean and reprocess surgical instruments according to established procedures.Required QualificationsEducationGraduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology.Licenses & CertificationsBasic Life Support (BLS): Required at hire.Surgical Technologist Certification: Required at hire.ExperienceNo minimum experience required.Additional RequirementsCandidates should have:Knowledge of sterile core operations.Knowledge of sterile technique and operating room procedures.Knowledge of surgical equipment and instruments.Good manual dexterity.Ability to follow instructions accurately.Good judgment and discipline.Ability to build effective working relationships with patients and health care professionals.Ability to work effectively within a surgical team.Commitment to patient safety and infection control standards.Preferred Qualifications2 to 5 years of surgical scrubbing experience across a range of surgical procedures in an inpatient or ambulatory operating room.Ability to rotate through the sterile core area.Experience cleaning and reprocessing surgical instruments.Experience stocking surgical
