The Surgical Technician prepares operating rooms for procedures, including setting up sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment according to established protocols. This role assists the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments, maintaining the sterile field, and anticipating the needs of surgeons and other clinicians. The Surgical Technician monitors and manages surgical instruments and equipment, supports proper sterilization processes, and helps with room turnover between cases. The role also involves collaborating closely with nurses and physicians, adhering to safety and infection control standards, and documenting required information related to surgical cases.Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within a clinical or hospital environment.Experience working in an Operating Room setting, including familiarity with surgical workflows and multidisciplinary team coordination.Knowledge of basic Medicine relevant to surgical procedures, including anatomy, aseptic techniques, and patient safety principles.Skills in Sterilization practices, including instrument processing, maintaining sterile fields, and adherence to infection control protocols.Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent training; certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or eligibility to obtain within required timeframe.Strong attention to detail, ability to follow standardized procedures, and commitment to patient and staff safety.Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented surgical environment.
