Apply & track with Apply EdgeLead the next chapter at Sur Wellness.As Sur Wellness continues to grow, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Theatre Manager to lead our day surgery and theatre services within our private hospital in Glasgow.This is a key clinical leadership role for an experienced theatre professional who combines strong perioperative expertise with confident people management, operational oversight and an unwavering commitment to patient safety.You will take responsibility for the day to day leadership of our theatre service, working closely with consultants, anaesthetists, nursing teams, Operating Department Practitioners and the wider management team to ensure our surgical services are delivered safely, efficiently and to an exceptional clinical standard.Sur Wellness brings together specialist surgical care, private health, medical aesthetics and wellness within one premium Glasgow destination. As our surgical offering continues to expand, you will play an important role in shaping how our theatre service develops.The Role:As Theatre Manager, you will provide clinical and operational leadership across theatre and day surgery services.Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, supporting and developing the theatre team across a range of surgical specialties
- Overseeing the safe and efficient running of theatre lists and day surgery activity
- Maintaining consistently high standards of patient safety, clinical care and perioperative practice
- Working collaboratively with consultants, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary clinical teams
- Managing theatre staffing, rotas, resources, equipment and operational requirements
- Supporting effective theatre utilisation and responding to changing clinical workloads and priorities
- Taking responsibility for clinical governance, risk management, infection prevention and regulatory compliance
- Leading and contributing to clinical audits, incident reviews and quality improvement initiatives
- Reviewing and developing programmes of care to ensure safe, effective and patient centred service delivery
- Supporting financial, budget and resource management within the theatre service
- Developing policies, procedures and working practices that support clinical excellence and continuous improvement
- Creating a positive, professional and collaborative working environment where colleagues feel supported to perform at their bestAbout You:
- You will be an experienced theatre professional with the confidence to lead people while maintaining strong clinical oversight.
- You will have current NMC or HCPC registration, alongside significant senior perioperative experience within a theatre, day surgery or comparable surgical environment.
- Previous leadership or management experience is essential, together with strong knowledge of clinical governance, patient safety, infection prevention, risk management and quality improvement.
- You will be comfortable balancing clinical priorities with the operational demands of a busy service.
- You should be able to prioritise fluctuating workloads, make sound decisions under pressure and work effectively across professional boundaries.
- Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to build trusted working relationships with consultants, clinical colleagues and management.
- Experience of managing staffing, theatre utilisation, budgets, resources and service development would be highly advantageous.
