In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental and sustainability initiatives across our port, terminal, and infrastructure operations. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, reduce our ecological footprint, and drive sustainable practices throughout our facilities.Conduct environmental impact assessments and sustainability audits for port, terminal, and infrastructure operationsDevelop and implement environmental management programs aligned with international standards (ISO 14001, MARPOL, and local regulations)Monitor and analyze environmental data, including air quality, water quality, waste management, and emissionsPrepare comprehensive sustainability reports and compliance documentation for regulatory agencies and stakeholdersIdentify opportunities to reduce carbon emissions, energy consumption, and waste generation across operationsManage environmental projects from conception through completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgetsConduct risk assessments related to environmental hazards and recommend mitigation strategiesCollaborate with port operations, terminal management, and infrastructure teams to integrate sustainability best practicesMaintain and update environmental management systems and databasesProvide training and guidance to staff on environmental policies, procedures, and compliance requirementsStay current with evolving environmental regulations and industry standards specific to maritime and port operationsEngage with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and environmental organizationsQualificationsProven experience in environmental management, sustainability, or related field within port, terminal, or maritime operationsStrong knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and compliance frameworks (ISO 14001, MARPOL, IMO regulations, and local Kuwait regulations)Proficiency in environmental data analysis and interpretationExperience with environmental management software and GIS toolsDemonstrated project management skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneouslyStrong analytical and problem-solving skill setExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishAbility to prepare detailed environmental reports and sustainability documentationExperience with carbon footprint analysis and emissions monitoringKnowledge of waste management systems and circular economy principlesFamiliarity with renewable energy and energy efficiency programsExperience conducting environmental audits and risk assessmentsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, multicultural environmentPreferred: Certification in environmental management (e.g., ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, Environmental Compliance Officer)Preferred: Experience with water quality monitoring and marine environmental protection
