Sustainability Venue Manager

Role SummaryThe role will lead the implementation and delivery of sustainability initiatives for a major sporting event in Saudi Arabia, driving sustainability strategy, environmental performance, governance, and cross-functional coordination to ensure measurable results and long-term benefits beyond the event.About the project: A high-profile, international football tournamentContract: November 2026 to March 2027Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement sustainability strategies and policies for venue operationsTranslate the sustainability strategy into practical action plans, targets, KPIs, milestones, and measurable outcomes.Coordinate with venue operations, procurement, logistics, facilities, and other departments to integrate sustainability requirements into event delivery.Develop and implement sustainability policies, procedures, governance frameworks, and compliance processes aligned with ISO 20121.Monitor and report sustainability performance, including carbon emissions, energy and water consumption, waste management, recycling, sustainable procurement, accessibility, and social impact.Lead priority sustainability initiatives, assess their feasibility and impact, and recommend practical solutions within tight project timelines.Prepare sustainability reports, dashboards, business cases, presentations, and recommendations to support management decisions.Capture lessons learned, develop reusable sustainability practices, and transfer knowledge and capabilities to support future major events in Saudi Arabia.Required SkillsTechnical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of ISO 20121, GHG Protocol, ESG performance measurement, sustainability governance, carbon accounting, and sustainable procurement.Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree orMaster's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Sustainable Development, ESG, or a closely related discipline strongly preferred.Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience, with demonstrated ownership of complex sustainability programmes and cross-functional delivery. Major events, infrastructure, large-scale programmes, or Tier-1 consulting experience highly desirable.Location / Work ModeRiyadh, Saudi Arabia (On-site)
