System Analyst

Role - Systems Analyst IT III & IVDuration – 1 year further extendableLocation – Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong KongPerm with NityoJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented System Analyst to join our technology team. This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating business requirements into practical, scalable, and maintainable system solutions.The successful candidate will participate throughout the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and solution design to testing, implementation, deployment, and production support. The role requires a strong combination of business analysis expertise, technical knowledge, stakeholder management, and delivery capabilities to ensure successful project outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with business stakeholders to understand business objectives, operational needs, and user requirements, and translate them into clear functional and system specifications.Analyze existing business processes, applications, data flows, interfaces, and system integrations to identify impacts, dependencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.Work closely with Solution Architects, developers, QA teams, project managers, vendors, and other stakeholders to design and deliver effective system solutions.Prepare, review, and maintain high-quality documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, system design documents, process flows, data flows, and test-related artefacts.Review technical designs and implementation approaches to ensure alignment with business requirements, architectural standards, and delivery objectives.Provide functional and technical guidance to junior developers and support teams where required.Support system integration, testing, defect analysis, release planning, implementation, production deployment, and post-implementation activities.Investigate application and production issues, perform impact assessment and root-cause analysis, and coordinate with relevant teams to implement timely and effective resolutions.Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, requirement clarification, and progress tracking.Manage changing requirements and priorities effectively while maintaining quality delivery and stakeholder alignment.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.Minimum of five years of relevant experience in system analysis, application development, business systems analysis, or enterprise technology delivery.Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, solution design, integration, testing, deployment, and production support.Good knowledge of Java-based applications and Angular frameworks, with the ability to understand application logic, review technical solutions, and provide guidance to developers where necessary.Sound understanding of database concepts, including relational databases, NoSQL databases, data models, and SQL.Practical experience with API integrations, RESTful services, microservices, and event-driven architectures.Ability to identify, evaluate, and adopt appropriate cloud services and platform capabilities to fulfill business requirements and support scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.Ability to understand system architecture, interface design, process flows, data flows, application dependencies, and integration impacts.Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.Experience working in Agile delivery environments, with the ability to adapt to changing requirements and business priorities.Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timelines.Fluent in spoken and written Cantonese, English, and Mandarin.Preferred QualificationsPractical experience with or a good understanding of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or Alibaba Cloud.Experience supporting cloud migration and modernization initiatives, including application assessment, solution design, migration planning, integration, testing, and post-migration stabilization activities.Experience within insurance, pensions, banking, wealth management, or other financial-services industries.Familiarity with cloud adoption, application modernization, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, application security, and secure software development practices.Experience working with offshore development teams, external vendors, or regional technology teams.Strong sense of ownership, professionalism, and commitment to continuous improvement.Work arrangement:Hybrid – 3 days onsite and 2 days WFHMust-have criteria:Minimum of five years of relevant experience in system analysis, application development, business systems analysis, or enterprise technology delivery.Practical experience with or a good understanding of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or Alibaba Cloud.Familiarity with cloud adoption, application modernization, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, application security, and secure software development practicesMust be trilingual in English and Chinese including MandarinGood-to-have criteria:Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsCapable of working independently, managing multiple priorities, and delivering high quality outcomes in fast paced environmentsStrong problem-solving abilityInterview process:1st round -
