System Engineer – Microsoft Exchange & Linux

About the RoleRecruvion is looking for a highly skilled System Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Exchange, Linux and enterprise infrastructure environments.The ideal candidate will have deep experience managing and troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange Server environments, combined with strong Linux administration skills and exposure to virtualization, Active Directory, networking, storage and backup technologies.This is a hands-on engineering role requiring someone capable of independently managing complex infrastructure and resolving critical production issues.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister, configure and troubleshoot Microsoft Exchange Server environments.Manage Exchange mailbox databases, DAG, High Availability, mail flow, connectors, transport services and related components.Troubleshoot email delivery, authentication, DNS, SMTP, Outlook and Exchange performance issues.Perform Exchange migrations, upgrades, patching and maintenance activities.Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and Microsoft 365/Hybrid environments.Administer and troubleshoot Linux servers including RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux and Ubuntu.Perform Linux patching, hardening, performance tuning, user/access management and system troubleshooting.Manage VMware environments including ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS and VM lifecycle management.Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, capacity and system health.Work with SAN/NAS, backup, storage and disaster recovery environments.Troubleshoot issues across server, OS, application, network and virtualization layers.Participate in infrastructure migrations, upgrades, implementations and technology refresh projects.Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.Maintain infrastructure documentation, configurations and operational procedures.Provide technical support for critical incidents and production environments.Core Technical SkillsMicrosoft Exchange – Must HaveExchange Server administrationExchange 2016 / 2019Exchange Online / Microsoft 365DAG & High AvailabilityMail flow & SMTPSend/Receive ConnectorsExchange databasesExchange migration & upgradesHybrid Exchange environmentsOutlook troubleshootingActive Directory integrationLinux – Strong Hands-OnRHEL / CentOS / Rocky Linux / UbuntuLinux administrationShell scriptingPatching & hardeningPerformance monitoringSystem troubleshootingUser/access managementServices and process managementInfrastructureVMware ESXi / vCenterWindows ServerActive DirectoryDNS / DHCPTCP/IP & networking fundamentalsSAN / NASBackup & Disaster RecoveryHigh AvailabilityEnterprise monitoring toolsCandidate ProfileWe are looking for a strong technical engineer, not a general IT support professional.The ideal candidate should have:7+ years of hands-on System Engineering experienceStrong enterprise-level Microsoft Exchange administration experienceSolid Linux administration expertiseExperience supporting production environmentsStrong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilitiesExposure to VMware and enterprise infrastructureExperience with migrations, upgrades and infrastructure projectsAbility to independently handle critical incidentsStrong communication and documentation skillsWe are specifically looking for engineers who have personally administered and troubleshot enterprise Exchange and Linux environments, rather than candidates who have only worked around these technologies.
