This is a great opportunity to join a stable, well-regarded business and take genuine ownership of the systems that keep the organisation running.About the RoleOur client is looking for an intermediate Systems Administrator to join their Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) team. Reporting to the Group Manager, IS&T, you will take ownership of day-to-day systems administration across the business, working closely with the wider IS&T team, project sites and external vendors to keep infrastructure, security and endpoint systems running smoothly.This is a genuinely varied role at the centre of the business's IT operations. Systems administration infrastructure, network, cloud and project work is the vast majority of the role, with a small amount of desktop support for corporate and project staff. It's suited to someone a few years into their systems administration career who wants ownership of real infrastructure, not someone purely coming from a desktop support background.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day operations of corporate and project IT systems, including monitoring, configuration, maintenance and repairsManage backup and disaster recovery processes, restoring data within agreed timeframesWork with internal staff and external vendors to patch and upgrade hardware and softwareLead third-level support, resolving issues within agreed SLAsDesign, deploy and maintain hardware and software for remote project sitesManage endpoint and identity controls using Intune, Entra ID and Defender XDR, and support Conditional Access and Entra PIM role managementSupport the maintenance of Essential Eight maturity level 2 controlsProvide desktop support to corporate and project staffIdentify and drive opportunities to improve IS&T operations and services between remote sites and central infrastructureAbout You — Essential3–5 years' experience in a Systems Administrator role, with systems administration — not desktop support — as the main focus of your day-to-day workWorking knowledge of the Microsoft 365 admin centre, Entra ID (Conditional Access, PIM), Intune (device/app/config management), Defender XDR and SentinelAdvanced knowledge of SharePoint Online administrationExcellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, and the confidence to work across corporate and project teamsA strong delivery focus, with the ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities and complex problemsFull Australian working rights — Australian citizens and permanent residents only, no visa holders can be considered for this roleAbout You — DesirableExperience in a business of similar size and complexity — supporting both a corporate office and remote or project sitesCertifications such as MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator), SC-300 (Identity and Access Administrator) or SC-200 (Security Operations Analyst)Exposure to Essential Eight maturity uplift and ISO 27001 control environmentsPalo Alto firewall experienceWhat's on OfferPermanent, full-time position with a stable, well-regarded Australian businessA broad, hands-on remit spanning infrastructure, network, cloud and security — not just ticket queuesDirect reporting line to the Group Manager, IS&TGenuine variety across corporate systems and project site infrastructure
