Apply & track with Apply EdgeRole - Systems Engineer, Go and RustLocation - Abu DhabiSalary - 18 K AEDPrimary Stack Go, Rust, gRPC, KubernetesBuilds performance critical services and infrastructure facing components in Go and Rust, andowns service to service communication over gRPC.Project Scope: Supports multiple concurrent platform initiatives within Digital CloudInfrastructure Engineering, including the Internal Developer Platform, alongside other cloudinfrastructure and automation projects. Not limited to a single initiative.Required Skills• Production Go experience, including concurrency patterns such as goroutines, channels,and context cancellation.• Working Rust experience, including ownership, borrowing, and an async runtime suchas Tokio.• Solid gRPC and Protocol Buffers experience, including service definitions, streamingRPCs, and interceptors.• Kubernetes fundamentals, including Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, andreadiness and liveness probes.• Ability to reason about performance close to the OS and network layer.Preferred Skills• Service mesh experience, such as Istio or Linkerd, and distributed tracing withOpenTelemetry.• Experience authoring CI/CD pipelines for multi language builds.• Experience with GitOps tooling, such as Argo CD or Flux.• Basic PostgreSQL administration experience is a bonus, though not required.Responsibilities• Design and implement gRPC services for internal, low latency service to servicecommunication.• Define and evolve Protocol Buffer schemas and manage backward compatible APIversioning across services.• Build performance sensitive components in Go or Rust, such as data pipelines, proxies,or long running agents.• Build infrastructure automation integrations for internal platform tools, such asKubernetes cluster management, GitOps synchronization, and deployment orchestrationon the Internal Developer Platform.• Containerize services and author Kubernetes deployment manifests or Helm charts.• Profile services for latency, memory footprint, and throughput.
