Tax Specialist

About the RoleA leading financial sector organization in Qatar is seeking a Tax Specialist to join its Tax function. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting tax compliance activities, taxpayer engagement, policy implementation, and the ongoing administration of a specialized tax regime.This position offers an excellent opportunity for a tax professional looking to develop their expertise within a dynamic regulatory and financial services environment while working closely with senior stakeholders and contributing to strategic tax initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and support tax compliance activities for a portfolio of entities.Review tax-related applications, submissions, and supporting documentation.Respond to taxpayer enquiries and provide guidance on compliance matters.Conduct risk assessments and assist with tax reviews and investigations.Support deregistration reviews and regulatory clearance processes.Prepare reports, analyses, and recommendations for senior management.Contribute to the development and enhancement of tax guidance, policies, and procedures.Participate in system enhancement and digital transformation initiatives related to tax administration.Support projects involving corporate taxation, international taxation, and regulatory developments.Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders on tax-related matters.Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and service delivery.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related discipline.Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in:Tax compliance,Tax advisory services,Government tax authorities, orRevenue administration environments.Professional tax qualifications will be considered an advantage.Skills & CompetenciesStrong technical understanding of taxation principles and compliance requirements.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Strong numerical and data interpretation skills.High attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.Advanced Excel and general IT proficiency.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.High ethical standards, professionalism, and integrity.
