Make a Difference in the Lives of Students Across Chicago! Saturday Place is seeking passionate, flexible, and dedicated teachers to join our team for an academic enrichment program supporting student success in literacy, math, science, social studies, and writing.Saturday Place is a two-year learning enrichment program for 3rd and 4th grade students in Chicago Public Schools who are performing at least one year below their current grade level. Students are selected for the program by their principals/teachers and receive educational lessons in various subjects including reading, writing, and math. Every Saturday during the school year, these students are given the boost that they need to catch up to and even exceed their peers and receive the tools they need for a successful higher education. Saturday Place was founded by former Chicago Bears Player, Rashied Davis, and his wife, Dianna Lilly. Since the inception of Saturday Place in 2010, over 200 students from three CPS elementary schools have successfully completed the program and have gone on to not only keep up with their peers, but even be in the top of their class. With your help, we can give students that need a leg up the support that they need to go into higher education successfully and ensure that they do not fall behind. Saturday Place is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.Position SummaryTeachers help create positive learning environments, monitor student progress, build relationships with partner schools, and support students through individualized academic interventions.Teachers will also receive professional development opportunities through CPS administrators and teacher leaders, including training in intervention programs such as UFLI and Wilson.Responsibilities Include:Lead engaging classroom instruction in reading, writing, math, science, and social studiesSupport day-to-day Saturday Place operations and student safetyCollaborate with co-teachers and support staffMonitor student progress using observations and dataAdminister and grade progress monitoring assessments biweeklyCreate and implement effective lesson plansBuild positive relationships with students, families, and school partnersMaintain a safe and structured learning environmentAttend staff meetings and communicate consistently with team membersRide and supervise students on school buses 2–3 times per monthQualifications Required:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experienceIllinois State Teaching Certification (Type 03, 04, 09, 10, 24, 28, 34, 44, or 73)Minimum 1 year of educational experienceAbility to work Saturday mornings (September–June)Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skillsWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR✔ PASSIONATE EDUCATORS✔ FLEXIBLE AND ADAPTABLE TEAM PLAYERS✔ STRONG CLASSROOM LEADERS✔ EDUCATORS COMMITTED TO STUDENT GROWTH AND SUCCESS✔ INDIVIDUALS WHO THRIVE IN COLLABORATIVE ENVIRONMENTSPREFERRED:ESL and/or bilingual endorsementKnowledge of literacy interventions and assessmentsFamiliarity with positive behavior supports and intervention programsemail your resume and cover letter to Info@saturdayplace.org
