Montessori Academy of Broward is committed to creating a supportive community where each child can thrive.Role Description The Teacher Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Pembroke Pines, FL, supporting lead teachers in Montessori and/or Elementary classrooms. Daily responsibilities include helping implement lesson plans, preparing classroom materials, and maintaining a safe, organized learning environment. The Teacher Assistant will guide children through activities, support social and emotional development, and reinforce positive classroom behavior. This role also involves assisting with small-group and one-on-one instruction, supervising students during transitions and breaks, and communicating observations to the lead teacher. The Teacher Assistant collaborates with the teaching team to uphold Montessori and Elementary Ed. principles and foster a respectful, inclusive classroom culture.Qualifications Ability to support classroom instruction, including Assistant Teaching and Education-related tasks.Strong Communication skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues.Comfort with basic Language Arts, Mathematics to assist students with age-appropriate academic work.Experience Working With Children in educational, childcare, or youth program settings.Interest in or familiarity with Montessori philosophy and child-centered learning approaches.Demonstrated patience, empathy, and ability to maintain a calm, positive classroom environment.Ability to follow guidance from lead teachers while taking initiative as needed.High school diploma required; coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.Capacity to stand, move, and engage with children at their level throughout the school day.Willingness to complete any required background checks and meet school and state compliance standards.
