Its mission is to nurture overall growth, ensuring learners gain knowledge, skills, confidence, and well-being.Role Description The Teacher Classical Dance role at Vikas Academy involves conducting regular Bharatanatyam classes for learners of different age groups and skill levels. This full-time, on-site position in Port Blair includes planning and delivering structured lessons, demonstrating techniques, and guiding learners in posture, rhythm, expressions, and choreography. The teacher is responsible for preparing students for performances, assessments, and cultural events, while maintaining a disciplined, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment. Daily tasks include designing practice routines, monitoring progress, providing constructive feedback, coordinating with other educators, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all learners during sessions. The role also involves contributing to curriculum development for classical dance and participating in Academy activities that promote arts education.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Teaching and Training skills to instruct learners effectively and adapt methods to different age groups and abilities.Candidates should possess Lesson Planning and Education skills to design structured, progressive classical dance curricula and learning activities.Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to explain techniques clearly, provide feedback, and engage with learners and families.Candidates should have formal training and proficiency in Bharatanatyam or other classical dance forms, with prior experience teaching in an institutional or studio setting.Candidates should demonstrate patience, cultural sensitivity, and a learner-centered approach, ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all.Candidates with a diploma or degree in Performing Arts, Dance, or related fields, and experience organizing performances or workshops, will be preferred.
