Teacher of English as a Foreign Language

So does teaching students who are motivated, goal-oriented and expect to see real progress.At International House Malta, our students come from all over the world with clear reasons to improve their English, whether for work, study, exams, or personal development.We’re looking for an experienced, motivated English teacher who can understand those goals, take ownership of the classroom and turn them into engaging, purposeful lessons.The role includes teaching General English, Intensive English, and exam preparation classes, so we’re looking for someone confident working across different course types and levels.What you’ll be doing:• Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons in line with IH Malta’s academic standards • Teaching General English, Intensive English and exam preparation classes • Preparing and adapting materials according to students’ needs and learning goals • Monitoring student progress and providing clear, constructive feedback • Participating in placement testing when required • Taking part in academic meetings, workshops and professional development • Contributing to a positive, professional and supportive academic environmentWhat we’re looking for:✔ CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL or equivalent recognised ELT qualification ✔ Valid ELT Permit ✔ At least one year of ELT teaching experience ✔ Confidence teaching across different CEFR levels ✔ Experience teaching exam preparation, particularly Cambridge and/or IELTS ✔ Strong classroom management and communication skills ✔ A flexible, professional and student-focused approach ✔ Confidence using technology as part of your teaching ✔ Experience with English for Specific Purposes is an advantageWhat you’ll find at IH Malta:• A professional academic environment where teaching quality matters • A supportive team and approachable academic management • Students from a wide range of countries and backgrounds • Variety in what you teach, from General English to exam preparation and specialised classes • Ongoing professional development • A school that values good teachers and supports their developmentThis is an on-site position based at our school in St Julian’s.Applicants must already be eligible to live and work in Malta.About IH MaltaInternational House Malta has been part of the International House World Organisation since 2003.
