The Charter School of Excellence is A free, non-profit public charter school in Erie, Pennsylvania that provides small and safe learning environments for students in grades 6-12 in Erie, PA. We believe all kids can learn and be successful in the right environment with programming to meet their needs. Our philosophy is based on relationship building with students and parents as well as community partners. In addition to core subjects like math, language arts, and science, we offer a one-of-a-kind student workforce program as well as high-interest electives such as Culinary Arts, Animation, Media Arts, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Digital Music Production, and our English Language Development program, designed to meet the needs of the local refugee population.1,600+ total Charter School of Excellence graduates to date (June 2026)96% of students feel that CSE is preparing them for their future99% of students feel safe in the CSE school buildings & groundsOur current openings are full-time positions that require a pre-employment drug screen and physical. A valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License is required. PDE FBI Fingerprints, PA Childline, and PA Criminal clearances are required. Essential duties include classroom education and discipline in accordance with Charter School of Excellence. The workday is from 8:00am-3:30pm.English Language Development Teacher PA Teacher Certification is required along with ESL certification.  High School ELA Teacher High School Language Arts certification required. High School Social Studies Teacher PA Teacher Certification in Social Studies is required, and ACT 48 Continuing Education requirements must be current with Special Education Certification. Math Teacher Qualifications PA Teaching Certification required with 7-12 Math Certification. Special Education Teacher PA Teaching Certification is required, and Act 48 Continuing Education requirements must be current with Special Education Certification. Substitute Teacher - Building Sub PA Teaching Certification is preferred but not required, Bachelor’s degree is required.
