Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob Summary:The Teachers Aide supports educators in providing academic instruction to incarcerated learners while helping maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment. This role works closely with certified instructors to support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), reinforce classroom instruction, and provide individualized or small-group academic assistance.Key Responsibilities
- Assist certified instructors in delivering educational programming to adult learners.
- Provide one-on-one and small-group academic support to students with IEPs.
- Reinforce lessons and instructional activities as directed by classroom educators.
- Implement accommodations and modifications outlined by certified instructors.
- Support classroom management efforts by maintaining a safe, respectful, and structured learning environment.
- Encourage student engagement, participation, and academic progress.
- Collaborate effectively with educators, students, and facility staff to support student success.Qualifications
- Experience working with students who have IEPs, special education populations, or within a correctional education setting preferred.
- Experience providing academic support, tutoring, lesson reinforcement, or small-group instruction.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and the ability to maintain a structured learning environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication styles to meet diverse learner needs.
- Ability to work professionally and effectively in a correctional facility environment.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting adult learners.
- Familiarity with special education practices and instructional accommodations.
