The organization values equity, inclusion, and respect for all members of the school community.Role Description The Teaching Assistant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Camden, NJ. The Teaching Assistant supports classroom educators by reinforcing lesson plans, guiding small group and one-on-one instruction, and assisting with classroom management. Daily tasks include helping students with assignments, particularly in core subjects such as mathematics, preparing learning materials, and maintaining an organized and safe classroom environment. The Teaching Assistant also supports student behavior and engagement, encourages positive interactions, and collaborates with teachers to track student progress. Additional responsibilities may include communicating with educators and staff about student needs, participating in school events, and modeling responsible, respectful behavior in line with the organization’s mission.Qualifications Strong Assistant Teaching skills and experience supporting classroom instruction.Effective Communication skills for interacting with students, educators, and families.Background in Education or related fields and an understanding of classroom practices.Comfort and proficiency in Mathematics to assist with student learning in core subjects.Experience Working With Children in educational or youth development settings.Ability to maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.Strong organizational skills and reliability in managing daily classroom tasks.High school diploma required; college coursework or degree in Education or a related field is preferred.Commitment to social responsibility, equity, and fostering respect within the school community.
