The district values professionalism, respect, and partnership among students, families, and colleagues.Role Description The Teaching Assistant will support classroom teachers in delivering instruction and reinforcing learning activities for students throughout the school day. This full-time, on-site role in the Greater Syracuse-Auburn Area includes helping manage classroom routines, assisting with small-group and one-on-one support, and preparing instructional materials as directed by the teacher. The Teaching Assistant will help monitor student engagement, provide guidance and encouragement, and support the implementation of individualized education plans where appropriate. The role also involves collaborating with teachers and staff, maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment, and participating in school-wide activities and professional development as needed.QualificationsAbility to provide effective assistant teaching support, including helping implement lessons and supporting classroom management.Strong communication skills for interacting with students, educators, families, and support staff in a clear and respectful manner.Background or interest in education, with an understanding of grade-level curriculum and student learning needs.Comfort with basic mathematics to assist students with math-related classroom activities and assignments.Experience or aptitude for working with children in educational or youth-focused settings, demonstrating patience and empathy.High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary coursework or degree in education or related field preferred.Ability to follow directions, work collaboratively as part of a team, and maintain confidentiality regarding student information.Commitment to inclusivity, supporting diverse learners, and upholding school policies and safety procedures.Relevant state certification or eligibility for Teaching Assistant certification, as required by New York State regulations.Go to https://www.moraviaschool.org/home-4
