Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob PurposeLead the acquisition and growth of the SME banking portfolio by winning new-to-bank clients, deepening existing relationships and delivering financial solutions that meet customers’ business needs. The role drives a high-performing relationship-management team, expands the CASA portfolio and supports sustainable growth while maintaining strong risk and compliance standards.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, coach and manage Relationship Managers, Assistant Relationship Managers and Virtual Relationship Managers to deliver customer, revenue and portfolio-growth objectives. Acquire new SME clients and build a robust CASA portfolio through proactive prospecting, lead follow-up and relationship development within assigned segments. Build trusted client relationships by understanding their businesses, identifying their banking needs and providing timely, relevant financial solutions. Drive sales, service, cross-sell and up-sell performance across the bank’s SME products and services, while referring relevant opportunities to specialist business units. Keep clients informed of new products, services and innovations, clearly articulating the value and benefits for their businesses. Achieve business targets while maintaining appropriate risk standards and a consistently customer-focused approach. Ensure KYC documentation is complete, accurate and updated on time, including account renewals and trade license updates. Partner with internal stakeholders to manage credit, compliance and operational risks in line with bank policies and regulatory requirements. Identify, escalate and support prompt action on potential money-laundering concerns.Key, qualifications & Experience:Degree in Business Management, Business Administration or a related discipline. At least 5 years’ experience in SME banking which includes people-management experience and a demonstrated record of leading teams to meet customer and financial objectives. Strong knowledge of SME banking propositions, business-banking products and services, and the competitive banking landscape. Proven ability to understand customer needs and match them with a broad range of banking solutions. Strong leadership, coaching, performance-management and behavioural-change skills, with a focus on high standards and results. Excellent relationship-building, influencing, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills across all levels. Sound analytical judgement, commercial acumen and the ability to plan, prioritise and execute with tenacity. Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver compelling presentations.
