Despite its growth, Panera remains committed to warm hospitality, quality food, and the belief that sharing a great meal brings people together.Role Description The Team Manager is a full-time, on-site leadership role based at the Panera Bread bakery-cafe in Providence, RI. This role oversees daily cafe operations, ensures high-quality food preparation and presentation, and supports a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and team members. The Team Manager leads and coaches associates, manages shift staffing and deployment, and helps maintain adherence to brand standards, food safety, and sanitation procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring service times, supporting guest interactions, resolving operational issues, and partnering with cafe management on inventory, cash handling, and performance goals. The role also involves training new team members, modeling Panera’s values, and promoting a culture of teamwork, respect, and excellent guest service.Qualifications Experience in team leadership and people management, including coaching, performance feedback, and conflict resolution.Background in food service or retail operations, with knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and basic inventory procedures.Strong customer service skills, with the ability to create positive guest experiences and handle guest concerns professionally.Solid organizational and time-management skills to oversee shifts, prioritize tasks, and maintain smooth cafe operations.Effective communication skills, including clear verbal communication with team members and accurate documentation or reporting.Ability to work on-site in Providence, RI, with a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.Basic math and cash-handling abilities; familiarity with point-of-sale systems is helpful.Previous supervisory or shift lead experience in a restaurant or fast casual environment is preferred.High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or education in hospitality or business is a plus.Capacity to stand for extended periods and perform essential physical tasks of the role, with reasonable accommodations as needed.
