Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob DescriptionJob Title: Lead Embedded Software Test EngineerLocation: Bangalore, Karnataka, India (Onsite / Hybrid)Department: Quality Engineering / Embedded SystemsEmployment Type: Full-TimeAbout The RoleWe are seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Embedded Software Test Engineer to drive our end-to-end quality and testing strategy across global engineering teams. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee test planning, architecture, automation, and execution for complex embedded systems.This role is offered on an Onsite or Hybrid basis to allow hands-on collaboration with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) lab environments and local project teams while supporting flexible working arrangements.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy & Governance: Own the end-to-end embedded software testing strategy, including test planning, scheduling, execution, monitoring, and reporting across global development teams. Execution & Automation: Lead manual and automated testing activities for embedded devices, ensuring comprehensive coverage across unit, integration, system, and regression testing layers. Risk Management & Quality: Define and execute robust regression strategies, risk-based testing approaches, and defect prevention techniques. Compliance & Reliability: Apply Software FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), regression analysis, and risk management practices to ensure device safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Program Managers, Project Leads, and System Architects to achieve tactical project milestones while supporting strategic software organizational objectives. Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical leadership, coaching, and direction to distributed software and test teams worldwide, directly influencing development and verification best practices across products. Required Qualifications & Skills Experience: 10–14+ years in Embedded Software Development and Verification & Validation (V&V). Technical Expertise:Hands-on expertise with embedded C/C++, RTOS/Linux-based testing, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or software-in-the-loop (SIL) test benches. Proficiency in automated testing tools/frameworks (e.g., Python, Vector CAST, Google Test, CANoe, CAPL). Deep understanding of communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet) and debugging tools (Logic Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, JTAG). Quality & Safety Processes: Proven expertise in Software FMEA, risk analysis, and relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 62304, or IEC 61508 depending on domain). Work Arrangement: Ability to work on site in our Bangalore lab/office as required for hardware integration, bench testing, and team leadership. Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
