Technical Assistant

Role PurposeThe Technical Assistant will actively support the Technical Service Manager in testing drymix mortar formulations, implementing new test methods, sourcing raw materials/equipment, and supporting troubleshooting customer problems.The Technical Assistant will also assist the Technical Service Manager in implementing WACKER and local (Singapore) Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) standards and legislation.Job ScopePerform day-to-day laboratory testing and analysis according to international and defined standards; interpret, document results with high accuracy, report and present laboratory test results as outlinedMaintain stock levels of all raw materials and dispose of expired materials.Ensure equipment is maintained and in good condition and is calibrated according to standards and SOP.Support Technical Service Managers to ensure the lab is operated in line with WACKER quality standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP); develop and update SOP’s whenever necessary.Ensure the lab is clean and tidy and take own initiative to clear any non-conformance.Job RequirementsBSc in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Civil EngineeringFresh graduates or candidates with up to 4 years of relevant experience are encouraged to applyExposure (through academic projects, internships, or work experience) to cementitious material testing, such as concrete or polymer-modified cement systems, is an advantageGood command of English, with the ability to communicate and present technical information effectivelyCustomer-oriented with strong interpersonal skillsComfortable working in an international and matrix organizationWell-organized, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervisionPhysically able to handle laboratory materials, including lifting concrete samples (approx. 10–15 kg)
