Technical Business Analyst

Role: Technical Business Analyst / Technical Analyst — Digital Delivery

About the Role

We're looking for a Technical Business Analyst to sit at the center of our digital delivery programmes — translating business intent into precise, technically sound specifications that development teams can build from directly. This is a hands-on technical BA role, not a traditional process-documentation function.

Key Responsibilities

Own the full requirements lifecycle — discovery, elicitation, specification, development handover, QA support, and production acceptanceWrite technical-grade functional specs: user stories with precise acceptance criteria, API contract requirements, mobile UX flows, business rules, and edge casesOwn API specification and integration documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger) in collaboration with solution architectsDocument integrations between digital channels and core banking systems — data flows, event triggers, and transformation logicLead requirements workshops with business stakeholders and product ownersMaintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) across the delivery lifecycleSupport QA with test scenario design and act as functional oracle during SIT/UATOwn UAT coordination, defect triage, and sign-off supportPerform gap analysis between current and target state systemsProduce and maintain BRDs, functional specs, data mapping docs, and API contractsAct as the translation layer between business stakeholders and technical squadsProactively flag functional/requirements risks to delivery leadership

Requirements

10+ years in BA roles, 5+ years as a technical BA on digital banking/fintech programmesTechnical foundation (dev, API design, systems integration, or architecture background)Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger and REST API design principlesExperience documenting core banking integrations (Finacle, Nucleus, FLEXCUBE, TSYS, or similar)Strong technical writing skills for user stories and acceptance criteriaQA/UAT experience in regulated environmentsUnderstanding of mobile app delivery mechanicsFamiliarity with Jira, Confluence, agile deliveryBachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related; CBAP/BCS BA certification preferred
