Technical Claims Manager (NY Labor Law)

A leading specialty insurance carrier is seeking an experienced Technical Claim Manager with a strong background in complex casualty claims and New York Construction/Labor Law.This is an excellent opportunity for a senior claims professional who enjoys handling technically challenging losses, working independently, and serving as a subject-matter expert without the requirement to manage a claims team.Position OverviewThe TCM will handle a full pending of complex New York Casualty General Liability and Commercial Excess Liability large-loss claims from initial investigation through resolution.Responsibilities include:Investigating complex casualty claims and evaluating liability, damages and coverage.Handling significant New York Labor Law and construction-related exposures.Analyzing coverage issues and preparing appropriate coverage correspondence.Establishing and maintaining appropriate reserves.Managing litigated claims and proactively directing outside defense counsel.Evaluating settlement opportunities and driving claims toward timely, fair and economically sound resolution.Working closely with insureds, underwriters, claimants, attorneys and other stakeholders.Applying established claims best practices and exercising sound technical judgment.Qualifications8+ years of relevant insurance/legal experienceExtensive experience handling complex commercial casualty claimsSignificant knowledge of New York Construction/Labor LawWork Arrangement & BenefitsHybrid work arrangment (locations listed at top of post)Competitive salary + bonus structureEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)Other Comprehensive BenefitsInterested in learning more?
