Technical Content & Training Manager
CIMON USA · Coppell, TX
Apply & track with Apply EdgeAbout the RoleCIMON is a manufacturer of industrial automation products — PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA software — and we're looking for a Technical Content & Training Manager to become the company's go-to owner of technical content and training. This is a newly created role: there is no formal training program at CIMON today, and our technical documentation (datasheets, manuals, spec sheets) needs a consistent owner to keep it accurate and current. We're looking for someone with a real engineering background — the kind of technical depth we look for in a Technical Solutions Engineer — who also wants to build and run training. You'll bring the technical credibility to own our content and answer tough product questions, and you'll build CIMON's first internal and customer training programs from the ground up. This role has real room to grow in scope as the training function matures. What You'll OwnTechnical ContentOwn and continuously update all technical content — datasheets, manuals, spec sheets, and technical product documentation — so nothing goes stale as products change.Be the internal point person for technical product questions, including for Marketing and Sales, and help translate technical detail into clear, accurate content for campaigns, sales collateral, and the website.Serve as the technical point of contact for what gets featured on the trade show floor (e.g., Automate) — working with the tradeshow team to make sure booth demos, displays, and printed materials reflect current, correct technical information.Training Program (Build From Scratch)Design and stand up CIMON's first internal training structure — including a recurring (e.g., monthly) training session to build technical/product knowledge across existing employees.Build and maintain reusable training materials (guides, decks, quick-reference sheets, short videos) rather than one-off content, so training stays easy to update as products evolve.Develop customer-facing training — onboarding materials, product walkthroughs, and best-practice guides — in partnership with Sales and technical/support teams.Gather feedback after each training session and iterate — this role owns continuous improvement of the training program, not just initial rollout. What We're Looking ForRequiredBachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent hands-on technical experience with industrial automation hardware/software (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA).3–5 years of experience in a technical, engineering-adjacent role — ideally as a Technical Solutions Engineer, Applications Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar customer-facing technical role within industrial automation or a related technical industry.Demonstrated interest in or exposure to training, teaching, or knowledge-sharing — this doesn't need to be your primary background, but you should be excited to build and run training, not just document things.Excellent written and verbal communication — able to turn technical detail into content that lands with different audiences (engineers, customers, sales, new hires).Highly organized and self-directed; comfortable owning multiple documents, requests, and deadlines at once without letting things slip.Builder mentality: energized by creating a program and process where none currently exists, rather than just maintaining an established one.Preferred (Not Required)Prior experience creating training content, leading sessions, or onboarding/mentoring new engineers or customers.Experience directly supporting customers on technical questions (pre-sales or post-sales), similar to a Technical Solutions Engineer function.Familiarity with documentation or training tools (e.g., Notion, Confluence, Articulate, Camtasia, or similar).Growth PathThis role is built for someone who already brings real engineering credibility and wants to expand into content and training ownership. As the training function matures and proves out, there's room to grow in scope — including the potential to build out a team and evolve into a broader technical enablement function. What Success Looks Like in the First 6–12 MonthsAll existing datasheets, manuals, and technical documentation audited and brought current.A working system in place to track and respond to customer technical questions.First recurring internal training session launched and running on a regular cadence.Foundational customer training materials built and in active use.
