OverviewOne Hat One Hand is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Technical Designer to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in custom fabrication, industrial design, or architecture, and a deep understanding of construction methodologies across a wide range of materials. This role requires the ability to produce precise, industry-standard technical drawings at a fast pace to support clients, architects, engineers, and both internal and external production teams. In addition to producing detailed technical documentation, the role includes elements of presentation design and project management. We're seeking someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, communicates clearly, is passionate about creative problem-solving, and sees their projects come to life before their eyes. Given the collaborative hands-on nature of our design/build practice, this is an in-person position.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe following are key duties and responsibilities of a Technical Designer at OHOH:Develop clear, constructible 3D design concepts and supporting visualizations in collaboration with the Design Studio Manager and Production Department.Produce accurate technical drawing sets for clients, engineers, and fabrication teamsCollaborate closely with internal production, finishing, and metal departments throughout the lifecycle of the projectGenerate documentation for coordination with external consultants including structural and MEP engineers, and for permitting processesCreate cut files and CNC-ready documents for internal fabrication and external vendorsAnswer key questions and problem-solve in collaboration with the fabrication teamSupport presentation efforts through design decks and visual storytellingParticipate in project planning meetings and stakeholder communicationCoordinate material sourcing and ensure scheduled fabrication teams have everything needed to complete their tasksKeep expense reports up to date and track purchases against project estimatesEssential Skills and Experience:Professional experience in technical design for architecture, industrial design, or stagecraft and event productionStrong custom fabrication background and knowledge of construction methodologies and best practicesSkilled in Rhino, G-suite, Adobe Suite and CAD. Proficient in Sketchup, Vectorworks, V-Ray, Enscape, Blender, or Unreal a plus.Knowledge of designing for wood, steel, aluminum, acrylic, foams, plastics, casting and finishingExperience processing graphics packages for printing on a variety of materials and substratesDigital fabrication experience including CNC, laser cutting, waterjet, and 3d printingKnowledge of LED lighting design, wiring and programmingHighly creative, detail-oriented, and strong critical thinkingClear and concise written and spoken communication skillsPersonal Attributes & General Requirements Willing to travel and work during evenings, weekends, or extended hours when required Positive attitude and flexibility with tight deadlines and changing scopes Ability to problem-solve through unknown design challengesStrong interest in continued professional developmentPlease apply on our Bamboo site: https://lnkd.in/gUQQvBtZ
