Technical Designer - Joinery

Tripod is seeking an experienced Technical Designer (Joinery and Architectural Fitout expert) to join our Joinery Division. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of joinery, shop drawings, architectural drawings, interior details, and joinery fabrication processes, with the ability to translate design concepts into accurate technical drawings for production and execution. Role Overview1. Shop Drawings & Technical KnowledgePrepare detailed shop drawings based on BOQs, tender/ Design drawings, and project specifications.Produce precise dimensioned joinery shop drawings, specifying materials, hardware, fixing details, and finishes.Provide detailed step-by-step assembly and construction instructions to support efficient production and installation.Prepare accurate cutting lists aligned with production requirements.Prepare material take-offs/ quantification when requiredShould have good knowledge of various materials and finishes used in interior design and in the joinery industryShould know how to take site surveys and coordinate this with drawing work2. Coordination, Collaboration and Soft SkillsCoordinate with designers, project managers, and production teams to ensure drawings reflect project constraints and manufacturing capabilities.Support site teams by providing clarifications, technical details, and modifications when required.Identify and address design discrepancies or technical challenges promptly to avoid production delays.Team playerGood communication skills with all relevant project stake holders3. Quality AssuranceEnsure drawings comply with project specifications, design standards, and joinery manufacturing norms.Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and feasibility before submission.Maintain organized documentation and revision logs for all drawing packages. Qualifications / Hard Skills· Diploma in Interior Design and or Architecture, Civil Engineering could be a plus point.· 3–5 years of experience in retail fit-out and joinery within a production or joinery factory.· Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.· Knowledge of Creo, SolidWorks, or other 3D modelling tools is an advantage.. M.S. Excel· Good understanding of joinery materials, hardware, and fabrication methods. Key Competencies· Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy.· Ability to translate design concepts into practical manufacturing drawings.· Solid understanding of joinery construction methods and materials.· Good communication and coordination skills.
