Technical Director | Digital Engineering & AI | $250k Remote – US East Coast

Ingenio is partnering with a leading digital engineering consultancy to hire a Technical Director to join its growing delivery organisation.This is a senior, client-facing technical leadership role for someone who has built and architected complex software solutions, led multiple engineering teams and can operate comfortably with both developers and C-level clients.This is not a Programme Director or traditional Delivery Manager role. Technical credibility is essential.What you’ll do:Lead the technical direction and oversight of complex digital engineering programmes across multiple teams.Work directly with senior clients, understanding the business problem and translating it into the right technical solution, architecture and delivery approach.Shape solutions across discovery, pre-sales and delivery, including team structure, timelines and technical approach.Oversee technical execution, working closely with Tech Leads and engineering teams to ensure quality and keep delivery on track.Identify technical risks early, course-correct where needed and act as a trusted technical advisor to clients.Help shape modern solutions across software engineering, cloud, data and AI.What we need:A strong software engineering / technical background with proven experience designing and architecting complex solutions.Experience leading multiple engineering teams and large-scale technical programmes — not just a single development team.Strong client-facing experience, with the ability to engage credibly with CIOs, CTOs and senior business stakeholders.Broad technical expertise across software engineering, architecture, cloud and modern development practices rather than deep specialism in one area.The ability to take a business requirement and confidently explain how it should be built, the architecture, team required, timelines and delivery approach.Consultancy, professional services, pre-sales/discovery and AI experience are all highly valuable, but the real non-negotiable is technical credibility combined with scale and strong client leadership.If you’ve remained close enough to technology to challenge engineering teams, but senior enough to advise clients and oversee complex delivery, I’d be very interested in speaking with you.#TechnicalDirector #EngineeringLeadership #SoftwareEngineering #SoftwareArchitecture #DigitalTransformation #TechnicalLeadership #CloudEngineering #AI #TechJobs #EastCoastJobs #Ingenio
