Company Description SHARK SPORTS ACADEMY is a multi-sport training center offering swimming, basketball, volleyball, and after-school activities for children and youth. The academy focuses on building strong technical foundations, promoting physical fitness, and encouraging teamwork and discipline. Programs are designed to support long-term athlete development while creating a positive and safe environment. SHARK SPORTS ACADEMY aims to help learners of all levels grow in confidence and skill through structured coaching and progressive training pathways.Role Description The Technical Director of Swimming is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates. This role oversees the technical direction of all swimming programs, including curriculum design, training plans, and performance standards across different age groups and skill levels. Daily responsibilities include supervising and mentoring coaches, leading technical workshops, observing and refining training sessions, and ensuring alignment with international best practices in swimming development. The Technical Director collaborates with management to plan seasonal goals, organize assessments and competitions, and maintain safety and quality standards in the pool environment. The role also involves regular communication with caregivers and stakeholders, providing updates on athlete progress and program improvements.Qualifications Proven experience in competitive swimming coaching and program leadership, ideally as a head coach or technical director.Strong background in designing training cycles, skill progression plans, and performance benchmarks for different age groups.Formal coaching certifications from recognized swimming or sports federations; degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or related field is preferred.Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop coaching staff, including conducting evaluations and technical training sessions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and interact with athletes, caregivers, and colleagues.Solid knowledge of athlete safety, safeguarding practices, and pool operational standards.Experience coordinating competitions, events, and talent identification initiatives within a club or academy setting.Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple programs, schedules, and administrative requirements.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, in line with training and competition schedules.
